Certified Horsemanship Association Wants to Help State Horse Councils

(November 2013) The Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) wants to help state horse councils raise some money while creating a great go-to list of accredited equine facilities and certified horseback riding instructors in their states.

This program includes the state horse councils reaching out to their equine facilities that might want to pursue CHA Site Accreditation for possible insurance discounts, marketing opportunities such as listings on websites like the American Horse Council Time to Ride site and others. The councils can also reach out to these same facilities to possibly host a CHA Certification clinic in 2014 for riding instructors who want to become certified.

“I really enjoyed being at the State Horse Council Coalition meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina last month,” says Christy Landwehr Chief Executive Officer for CHA. “Sue Gray, the Executive director of the North Carolina State Horse Council, did a great job putting on the event. CHA is excited to be able to help state horse councils in this way as they are the path to legislation in their states that benefit horse owners and enthusiasts.”

Please contact CHA at office@CHA-ahse.org or at 859-259-3399 to find out how your state horse council can become involved in this program.

The purpose of the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) is to promote excellence in safety and education for the benefit of the horse industry. CHA certifies riding instructors, vaulting coaches, barn managers, drivers and trail guides; accredits equestrian facilities; publishes educational equine manuals, produces educational horsemanship DVDs, and hosts regional and international educational conferences that are open to the public. For more information please visit www.CHA-ahse.org or call 859-259-3399.  To find a certified horseback riding instructor or accredited equine facility near you visit www.CHAinstructors.com.

October 14, 2013:
Clinician and TV Host Julie Goodnight announces her 2014 Clinic Tour Schedule—with opportunities to ride, meet Goodnight and ask horsemanship questions. Learn what will help you progress with your horse during these “up-close and personal” events. Sign up to ride or get tickets to watch now>> http://juliegoodnight.com/clinics

In 2014, Goodnight travels to Tennessee, Kansas, Ohio (two clinics), California, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado (multiple appearances), Georgia and Wisconsin for 2-day clinics.
Goodnight’s clinics offer a time to learn in a positive, fun, intimate environment. This is your time to ask Goodnight about your horse; it’s your time to ride with her so that you know exactly what she’d do next to help you reach your goals. Each of her clinic tour stops provides an opportunity for horse owners to ride with her. Audiences are also invited to watch and learn in a friendly environment.
Clinics are fun and active, with a focus on bridging natural horsemanship techniques with the principles of classical riding. Expect to work together in the arena all day, doing both ground work and mounted work, with a focus on refining riding skills and developing a better relationship with your horse. All ability levels are welcome; each rider works at his/her own pace.
Clinic participants are eager to ride with Julie each year—and riding spots fill quickly! “I attended a clinic with my mare, and it was the highlight of my summer!” says past clinic attendee, Kate Westfall. “I felt so connected with my horse during the clinic and have continued a wonderful relationship. Julie shared a lot of knowledge and taught in a patient but no-nonsense way. The exercises were simple, safe, effective and easy to reproduce once I got home. This was a gem of a clinic and worth every penny!”
