Certified Horsemanship Association Regional Conferences Offer Continuing Education for the Horse Industry All Around the United States and Canada

(January 2016) – If you have been searching for a great way to learn about how to become a riding instructor or barn manager and great horsemanship practices as a whole, then the Certified Horsemanship Association has several events that offer just that. CHA's Regional Conferences are great continuing education opportunities for both riding instructors and all horse enthusiasts. Anyone is welcome. If you like horses, this is one of the best ways to learn about a variety of topics from top instructors, clinicians, veterinarians, farriers, and other professionals from within the horse industry. Come enjoy being with fellow horsemen and horsewomen at a conference near you, and you can even get hands-on horse experience with mounted sessions taught by experienced CHA certified instructors.

§  CHA Region 1 (British Columbia, Washington, Idaho, Western Montana, Oregon, and Alberta)
This conference is scheduled for March 3-6, 2016, at Miracle Ranch in Port Orchard, WA. Speakers, to be announced, will speak on English and western riding, vaulting, therapeutic riding, equine facility management, and other topics. Contact CHA Regional Director Teddy Franke in Oregon at

§  CHA Region 2 (Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Eastern Manitoba, North Dakota, and South Dakota)

§  CHA Region 4 (Lower Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Eastern Ontario)

§  CHA Region 5 (New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland)
This conference is scheduled for April 1-2, 2016, at Houghton College in Houghton, New York. Workshops are designed to help riding instructors improve teaching techniques and learn to evaluate their students. §  CHA Region 9 (Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, and Wyoming)
This conference is scheduled for June 10-11, along with a Skills Clinic on Practicing Lessons for Certification and/or to achieve a higher level, at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, WY. Contact Jill Montgomery at

§  CHA Region 10 (California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and Hawaii)

The award-winning Horse Master with Julie Goodnight show celebrates its 9th year on the air and the first season to be broadcast in HD. Tuesday is the last day to apply to work with Goodnight on the set of her show. The crew arrives in Tucson, Arizona at the White Stallion Ranch (http://www.whitestallion.com) to record 8 new episodes. Goodnight works with a different horse and rider in each episode— helping overcome behavior challenges or helping the rider achieve a new riding skill and goal.

Certified Horsemanship Association Offers Job Opportunities Board Online for Job Seekers and Free Postings to CHA Members Who are Hiring

(January 2016) – The Certified Horsemanship Association consistently has a variety of benefits to membership, and one of those benefits is CHA’s job opportunities board. For CHA members who are seeking to hire a new employee, job openings are free to post as a benefit of membership. In addition, the board serves the horse industry by connecting job seekers with equine businesses that are hiring.

Riding Camp Counselors; Program Director for Therapeutic Riding; Leaders and Instructors; Horse Trainer; Regional Development Manager; Special Programs Coordinator; Barn Manager; Wranglers; Equestrian Director; Full-Time Site Manager; Professor of Equestrian Studies; Equine Trainer/Show Presenter…These are just a few of the positions currently advertised on CHA’s job board.

The board typically offers openings for riding instructors, assistant riding instructors, riding camp instructors, therapeutic riding instructors, camp directors, equestrian program directors, volunteer managers, farm caretakers, equestrian facility managers, supervisors, ranch staff, grooms, interns, seasonal positions, and more. While only CHA program members can post jobs, any job seekers, whether CHA member or not, is encouraged to apply to any of the job postings offered on the board. Though some of the jobs, specifically ask for a certified instructor or barn manager.
