Thursday, March 7th

Ride with the Experts

Have you ever traveled to one location and found the opportunity to interact with and learn from over fifty clinicians, trainers and equine experts?  There are still spots available for our Ride with the Experts Program and Pre-Expo Clinics.  Don't miss out on this excellent opportunity provided at such a tremendous value!

You can bring your horse and participate in the "Ride with the Expert" program with a select number of our clinicians. Or, come with your horse on Thursday to the Pre-Expo Clinics and train for the day with clinicians such as Dolly Hannon and Larry Whitesell. See below for more information on Pre-Expo Clinics.

We have 18 nationally known clinicians that are participating in our "Ride with the Expert" program. Click here for a full list of clinicians and classes.

There are two rate options for participants:

Option 1:
$40/per session, plus stalling at $40/day (stall required for all horses on premises, regardless of length of stay). Includes 2 single-day admission tickets (for day of ride or rides); trucks with trailers park at no charge in Lot C.

Option 2:
Participant package: $200 for 3 rides total, plus 1 stall for the entire Expo. Includes 2 three-day passes and 1 parking pass (trailer can be dropped at Lot C).

If you would like to "Ride with the Experts," just take the following steps:

1. Fill out a contract, available on our website or by calling (303) 292-4981. List your three clinician preferences, and the RMHE will forward your information to the clinician(s) in order of preference, for them to determine whether it's a match between their program and your skills and goals. If your first choice doesn't work out, then the RMHE will contact your second, etc. Full payment is expected at the time of submitting the contract.

2. Furnish proof of liability insurance. If you don't have this coverage from another source, it's included in your Colorado Horse Council individual/family membership or available for purchase from us. Not a member yet? Time to join: click here for an application.

THE EQUINE FEED OAT PROJECT ANNOUNCES SPONSORSHIP OF

HORSE MASTER WITH JULIE GOODNIGHT

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - January 29, 2013 – The Equine Feed Oat Project (EFOP) is proud to announce its sponsorship of the popular television show, Horse Master with Julie Goodnight. EFOP is an initiative created by the Prairie Oat Growers Association (POGA), a non-profit representing 15,000 Canadian Oat Farmers, to increase research and enhance communication about oats in the equine industry.

“Julie Goodnight is known throughout the equine industry as a knowledgeable, trustworthy source in equine training and care,” said Bill Wilton, Chair of POGA. “EFOP is very excited about the opportunity to support her positive efforts in the equine industry.”

Julie Goodnight is known and respected internationally as a trainer and clinician. Goodnight has experience training in a wide range of equestrian sports through her clinic tour, expo appearances, how-to DVDs and most notably through her television show Horse Master with Julie Goodnight. Goodnight hopes to help individuals master their desired horse skills through her show, which airs through Rural Media Group, Inc. on RFD-TV. Rural Media Group, Inc.  offers the largest library of rural-themed programming in the world and is distributed into over 61,000,000 homes by every major cable and satellite operator in all 50 states.

“It is vital that every horse have a healthy, balanced diet in order to successfully train and have a full life,” said Julie Goodnight. “Oats are a safe, healthy and natural choice for horses and I am very honored that EFOP has chosen me to help relay that message to horse owners and trainers.”

January 2013: Clinician and TV Host Julie Goodnight announces her 2013 Clinic Tour Schedule—with opportunities to meet her in person and ask your horsemanship questions. In 2013, Goodnight will travel to California, New Jersey, Colorado (multiple appearances), Washington, Minnesota, Virginia, Massachusetts, Wisconsin and Ohio.
Each of Goodnight’s clinic tour stops provides an opportunity for horse owners to ride with Goodnight. Audiences are also invited to watch and learn in a friendly environment for a nominal cost.
Clinics are fun and active, with a focus on bridging natural horsemanship techniques with the principles of classical riding. Goodnight's teachings are focused on finding success and improvement for each and every horse and rider by developing a deeper understanding of the horse and riding skills that lead to a balanced and rhythmic rider and a light and responsive horse.
Expect to work together in the arena all day, doing both ground work and mounted work, with a focus on refining riding skills and developing a better relationship with your horse. All ability levels are welcome as long as the rider has basic control at the walk and trot. Each rider works at his/her own pace without pressure to go outside your or your horse’s comfort zone.
Click here to register to ride or purchase spectator tickets now: http://juliegoodnight.com/clinics. You may also call 800-225-8827, M-F, 9-5 MST for friendly help.
What Julie Goodnight's Clinic Attendees Say:
"I am putting all the things I learned at the clinic to use, most importantly, my seat and balance in the saddle. What a difference it makes in my ride, especially at the canter where I am doing so much better. My horse is traveling better since I am more in balance sitting in the middle of the saddle on my seatbones and relaxed. My confidence has also improved. Looking forward to next year!"
"I learned so much even being just a spectator. Julie addresses all issues to the riders as well as her audience and gives so freely of her advice to everyone. She wants to help everyone...She is really an amazing person and explains everything so well. She is very patient, attentive, and ever so gracious with her time."
"I thoroughly enjoyed the clinic. I especially appreciate Julie's ability to meet each rider at his or her experience level, her willingness to allow proper application of alternate methods, and her dedication to producing more knowledgeable riders...As any good instructor, she focuses on reinforcing each participant for what is being done correctly and asking for the specific changes which will improve his or her skills. Julie uses techniques which respond to the horse's earliest attempts to offer the correct response thereby keeping the horse within a frame of mind in which it is able to learn and process information. This reduces stress, avoids panic and explosive aversion, and encourages handling techniques that are safe for all participants to practice at home or in a group setting...I wholeheartedly recommend her clinics to others."

Cox Cable RFD-TV and RURAL TV/FAMILYNET

Attention Cox Cable customers.

This is important!  If you wish to continue to have RFD-TV and/or FamilNet on your Cox channel lineup after Februrary 1st, now is the time to show your support for our family-oriented programming.

Unfortunately, some big urban-based media giants are trying to pressure certain cable companies to remove independent channels, such as ours, off that system, so that they can then takeover that channel space to expand their own interests.  As a complete surprise and with really no notice to us whatsoever, this is happening at Cox right now.

At this time, I ask for your help to stop this from happening and that you register your support for RFD-TV and RURALTV on FamilyNet by doing the following.

First, immediately write an e-mail or letter to Cox asking them to keep RFD-TV and FamilyNet available to your home. Please send that request directly to me, Patrick@rfdtv.com, as I will then organize all requests and personally deliver them to the decision makers at Cox without delay.

Second, call your local Cox cable system and voice your concern about the possibility of losing RFD-TV or FamilyNet from your channel lineup.  Independent channels are at a huge disadvantage in these types of situations, unless our loyal audience comes to our defense quickly, and in a big way.

Folks, I need thousands of e-mails, letters, and calls, so that we can prove, once and for all, the value and importance of rural, family-oriented programming to Cox cable executives.

No one is more powerful than the American consumer, and no audience is more responsive than ours.

Please help us send the strongest possible message to Cox cable so there is no doubt and this battle is fought only once.

We all have better things to do.

On behalf of all the independent programmers and employees of RFD-TV and FamilyNet, we apologize for any inconvenience to you, and thank you in advance for your response and support.

Be sure to include your name, city, and state where located.

I will keep you informed on any developments.
