Certified Horsemanship Association Announces the Return of NRHA Ride a Reiner to the CHA International Conference
(April 2015) – Attendees of the Certified Horsemanship Association’s International Conference in 2014 were thrilled to have the chance to participate in mounted educational sessions with instruction from experienced horsemen and horsewomen, and one of the most popular riding options was the National Reining Horse Association’s Ride a Reiner program. Now, the Certified Horsemanship Association is proud to announce the return of the NRHA Ride a Reiner to this year’s CHA International Conference, set for October 22-25, 2015, in Amarillo, Texas. All horse enthusiasts are welcome at the CHA International Conference.
NRHA has given all types of riders—from beginners to advanced horsemen and horsewomen—the thrill of a lifetime with the Ride a Reiner program at equine events across the country. “I really believe that the ‘NRHA Ride a Reiner’ is taking the country by storm by offering first-time and novice riders the experience to ride a reining horse,” said Hayley Lewallen, NRHA’s Senior Marketing Coordinator. “Nowhere else in the world can spectators find an opportunity like this: the opportunity to get a hands-on lesson from an NRHA professional, to enjoy a dizzying spin, and to feel the power of sliding stops on a well-trained reining horse!”
CHA is happy to welcome Lewallen back to its conference as the representative from NRHA who will help the sessions run smoothly and be available at NRHA’s booth. “It was an honor to attend the CHA International Conference last year and sincerely a joy to have such a warm welcome from your members,” said Lewallen. “I was astounded with the quality of education that was offered to CHA’s professionals in such a friendly environment. CHA is offering the horse industry exactly what it needs.”
Lewallen is excited about NRHA’s Ride a Reiner program and has experienced first-hand the excitement it has generated at events across the country, including at the 2014 CHA International Conference in Lexington, Kentucky. Last year, excited participants got in line at 6 a.m. to be able to sign up for a reining session. “I was more proud to see the excitement on everyone’s faces as they got to experience the slide and discover the feel of the spin as they built their relationship with that horse,” said Lewallen. “The entire experience was not only a joy, but it reminded me of how much I love promoting the reining horse, and especially how honored I am to have a role in the horse industry.”
This year, the NRHA Ride a Reiner session will happen during the lunch break on Saturday. Attendees can sign up at the conference, and riders will come on a first-come, first-serve basis. The 2015 CHA International Conference will take place at the American Quarter Horse Association’s Hall of Fame and at West Texas A&M University’s Horse Center, which offers an indoor arena, two lighted outdoor arenas, and meeting rooms set on 80 acres in Canyon, Texas. In addition to the NRHA Ride a Reiner program, horse enthusiasts and CHA members will enjoy presentations, workshops, entertainment, equine veterinary talks, business and marketing tips, the CHA Trail Challenge, a large silent auction, vendors, and the ever-popular hands-on riding sessions.
