Certified Horsemanship Association Creates Speakers Bureau

(April 2017) – The Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) has created the CHA Speakers Bureau, which is made up of CHA Certified Instructors who are available to speak at events inside and outside the horse industry. Speaking at events is a great way for CHA Certified Instructors to share their love of the horse industry, encourage additional people to get involved with horses, share their experience with CHA, and educate others about horses and horsemanship.

Speakers from the CHA's Speakers Bureau have already been busy speaking at a plethora of events around the United States, including various CHA Regional Conferences and expos, such as the Northwest Equine Expo, Pennsylvania Horse World Expo, Hoosier Horse Fair, Minnesota Horse Expo, and others.

"I am very excited about the CHA Speakers Bureau," said CHA CEO Christy Landwehr. "There are so many great horse events and expos taking place around the continent, and now we can have a quality presence at many more of them."

Landwehr, who is a CHA Master Instructor and Clinician, speaks multiple times per year on behalf of CHA. In 2017, she has already spoken at the American Camp Association National Conference, American Hippotherapy Association Conference, the United States Pony Club Equine Symposium and Convention, and will be speaking at a regional Boy Scout convention in September. In June, she will be a panelist for an educational session at the American Horse Publications Seminar. Landwehr is available to speak remotely via Skype to audiences at colleges and universities on the following topics: Teaching Techniques, Risk Management, About CHA, Working with At-Risk Youth in a Riding Program, Professionalism and Ethics, Marketing, Business Planning, and many more.  She has done this remote teaching for Penn State, Middle Tennessee State University and many others.

Kicking off the year for the CHA Speakers Bureau was CHA President Beth Powers. Powers spoke several times for the 118 attendees at the well-attended CHA Region 1 Conference, in Stanwood, WA, in February and at Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio in April. In addition, various CHA Board Members have already been active speakers within the horse industry.

One of the organizations most-recognized speakers is CHA's International Spokesperson Julie Goodnight. Goodnight is a CHA Master Instructor and Clinician and is most well-known as the host of RFD-TV's TV show "Horse Master with Julie Goodnight."

Now with the CHA's Speakers Bureau, those who are already established speakers, and those certified members who would like to do more public speaking, can be ambassadors for CHA at various events.
