FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TEMPLETON THOMPSON WRITES SONG FOR BARBARO DOCUMENTARY
The Making of Alexa King¹s Statue is captured on Film and in Music

April 26, 2010, Kentucky.

The singer-songwriter and Nashville recording artist, Templeton
Thompson, and her musician husband, Sam Gay, have written a song for
the new documentary, Sculpting The Wind; Alexa King & The Making of
the Barbaro Memorial Statue, which chronicles artist Alexa King's
creation of this now famous statue that resides at Churchill Downs.

The song, I Love to Run, captures the essence of the famous Derby
winner who famously fought to overcome catastrophic injuries only to
ultimately lose his battle with laminitis.

A chance meeting between the artist and singer prompted the idea of a
song dedicated to Barbaro, which would be fitting of the new
documentary, Sculpting the Wind produced by Allison Pareis, which
will preview on April 28, 2010 at the Kentucky Derby Museum at
Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby.

"When we were approached to write a song about Barbaro for this
documentary, I have to say I was truly honored & excited at the idea.
Then the truth is I became overwhelmed by the emotion of his story
and by the responsibility of attempting to memorialize in song such a
noble icon of a horse who is loved by so many people," said
singer-songwriter, Templeton Thompson, who collaborated with her
husband, Sam Gay.

The song, which honors Barbaro's life and captures his unique spirit,
is embraced in Thompson's inimitable style with lyrics, which convey
his larger-than-life presence that captured a public's imagination.

The artist, Alexa King, commented, "As I listened to the song, images
were formed with the music and words that evoked a powerful emotion
as it depicted Barbaro's personality and his raison d'etre that will
be forever memorialized."

National Turf Writer¹s Association 2008 Journalism Scholarship
recipient, Allison Pareis, received a grant from PBS to produce a
documentary about King and her journey through creating one of the
most widely recognized and respected equine memorials. The preview of
Sculpting the Wind and a cocktail reception will be held on
Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in the Pollard Gallery at the Kentucky
Derby Museum from 6 8 PM.

Producer, Allison Pareis, is honored to be able to incorporate
Thompson¹s music into the documentary, as she believes it completes
the film¹s story and compliments the imagery of Barbaro.

³It¹s such an evocative song that it has become a part of the
whole fabric of the film and what we were trying to portray. It¹s
thrilling and a great privilege to be able to enhance the story with
Templeton¹s music,² said Pareis.
