San Diego, CA – July 12, 2011 –Troxel LLC, the worldwide leader in ASTM/SEI-certified equestrian helmets, announced today that it will be a participating sponsor of the 2nd Riders4Helmets Helmet Safety Symposium on July 23rd, 2011, in the Theater Room of the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, KY, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Helmet Safety Symposium, organized by Riders4Helmets, will bring together representatives from the equestrian world to discuss the importance of wearing helmets, rider safety, rules, improvements to helmet designs, and more.

"The Helmet Safety Symposium is an influential event that Troxel is proud to support", said Shay Timms, CEO of Troxel. “Equestrian athletes are moving to overcome a traditional resistance to protective helmets, and the Helmet Safety Symposium is a significant step forward in helmet acceptance.”

Physician to the United States Equestrian Team and Chair FEI Medical Council, Dr. Craig Ferrell, and, co-founder of Riders4Helmets Lyndsey White will host the event.  All members of the public are welcome to attend the symposium’s lectures and panel discussions, which will feature equestrians, representatives from the helmet safety testing authorities, helmet manufacturers, equestrian organizations, and neurosurgeons.

"We are very grateful to Troxel for their sponsorship of the 2nd Riders4Helmets helmet safety symposium," said event organizer & Riders4Helmets campaign co-founder Lyndsey White. “Without the support of the symposium sponsors, this important event would not be able to occur."

About Troxel
Troxel is the world's leading provider of ASTM / SEI certified equestrian helmets for competitive, schooling and recreational riding.  Established in 1898, Troxel is recognized for its innovative design and research leadership in helmetry.  Based in San Diego, California, Troxel now dedicates all its resources to equestrian helmets and related accessories, and has provided over three million helmets to the equestrian market.

About Riders4Helmets
Riders4Helmets was founded in early 2010 after Olympic dressage rider Courtney King Dye was seriously injured in a riding accident. King Dye, who remained in a coma for a month following her accident, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and continues to undergo rehabilitation. The goal of the Riders4Helmets Campaign is to educate equestrians on the benefits of wearing a properly fitted and secured, certified helmet.
